"Family"

The Barberini family adorned their crest with three bees and their family's favorite artist, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, incorporated bees into many of his creations. Bees have symbolized community, family, industriousness and even elements of the divine. The back of the medallion is inscribed with the Latin word “Familia” translated as “Family.”
